Victor Osimhen Brings CAF Award to Alma Mater in Lagos

Nigerian football star Victor Osimhen recently revisited Olusosun Primary School in Oregun, Lagos State, proudly showcasing his CAF Men’s Player of the Year award. Osimhen’s visit highlighted his roots and celebrated his remarkable achievements in football.

In December 2023, Osimhen made history by becoming the first Nigerian to win the CAF Men’s Player of the Year award since Nwankwo Kanu in 1999. His triumphant return to his primary school emphasized the importance of his early beginnings and the community that nurtured his talents.

Photojournalist Sulaiman Adebayo, also known as Pooja, shared the moment on social media platform X.com, captioning it, “Victor Osimhen takes his CAF Award to Olusosun Primary School, Ojota, where it all started with street coaches and friends.”

Osimhen’s visit to his alma mater wasn’t his first; in June 2023, he also returned to reconnect with his past. During that visit, he revisited his former classroom, met with his old teacher, and interacted with the students, offering them inspiration and hope.

Victor Osimhen’s journey from the streets of Lagos to international football stardom serves as a powerful example for young aspiring athletes. His commitment to giving back to his community underscores his gratitude and the importance of remembering one’s roots.
