Following a two-day governance training, the Implementing Partners (IPs) of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Ebonyi State resolved to create a stronger synergy in order to accomplish both group and individual goals and objectives.
Attendees of the event, which took place in Abakaliki, included state-employed implementing partners, particularly those from the vital areas of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), education, and health.
According to Ahmed Mohammed, Acting Deputy Chief of Party for USAID Nigeria State Accountability Transparency and Effectiveness (State2State) Activity, enhancing cooperation among implementing partners is critical to the durability of governance reforms in Ebonyi State.
He pointed out that successes that might not have been attained if one IP had been left alone had been attained by utilizing the capabilities of each implementing partner.

Mohammed urged the creation of sustainability measures that would guarantee the interventions and changes would go on even if the partners left.
If the IPs collaborated with the Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to institutionalize the programs in the state, he argued, this might be accomplished.
Solomon Azi, Commissioner for Grants and Donor Agencies, praised USAID and the implementing partners for their well-planned and development-focused activities in the state.
On the other hand, he demanded that the Peoples Charter of Needs, the platform of the administration of Governor Francis Nwifuru, be incorporated into the IPs’ activities.
