United Nigeria Rolls Out Plan For Aircraft Maintenance Facility In Enugu

After receiving state government approval, United Nigeria Airlines (UNA) has revealed its intentions to construct a Maintenance, Repairs, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Enugu State.

This was said by Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, the chairman of the local airline, in an Enugu business meeting with Governor Peter Mbah.

According to Okonkwo, the airline has always wanted to establish a strategic head office and an MRO in the state.

In addition, he stated that as soon as the state government approves the company’s request for land, it will increase its footprint in Enugu by building staff quarters that are appropriate.

According to Okonkwo, since Enugu is now the airline’s host state, state government clearance is essential for the plan to construct an MRO, headquarters, and staff housing.

At the meeting, Okonkwo—accompanied by Linus Awute, the Director of Administration for the Airlines—enumerated the many advantages of constructing an MRO and staff quarters in Enugu. He also mentioned how the infrastructure would boost the state’s economy and support the governor’s goal of drawing in more capital.
