The University of Abuja remains steadfast in its commitment to academic and administrative continuity despite the recent declaration of an internal strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), according to a statement by Prof. Abdulrasheed Na’allah, the institution’s Vice Chancellor.
During a meeting with key stakeholders, including the Provost, deans, directors, and heads of academic departments, Prof. Na’allah reiterated the university’s stance on ensuring uninterrupted operations.
“While some have declared a strike, our university’s management is resolute in upholding normalcy in our academic pursuits,” stated Prof. Na’allah. He emphasized that all scheduled activities, including examinations and senate meetings, will proceed as planned.
Addressing concerns raised by ASUU, including issues related to the appointment of a new VC and alleged irregularities in recruitment and promotion processes, Prof. Na’allah affirmed that the university had adhered to due process in all matters.

“The allegations are baseless, and our commitment to transparency and fairness remains unwavering,” he stated.
Prof. Na’allah condemned the strike as unnecessary and vowed to prevent any disruption to the university’s calendar and operations.
Despite the ASUU strike, UniAbuja is poised to maintain its academic momentum and uphold its standards of excellence.
