Following the unfair contract termination of physicians recruited from the United Kingdom to Trucare clinic.
The aggrieved physicians have taken the clinic owners to court to request payment of promised incentives and contest the grounds for unfair dismissal.
Speaking to the lawyer of one of the physicians unjustly dismissed who has claimed anonymity.
He states it is good that the government of Manitoba is now involved in the recruitment process as Clinic owners sometimes lure unsuspecting physicians with incentives , and terminate their contracts at short notice, leaving them in the precarious situation.
This has been the practice of some Western medical institutions in the UK and Canada who, taking advantage of doctors from developing countries especially Africa employing them with bogus promises and contract without following through, terminate their employment without due process or benefits.
The aggrieved doctors who are also UK citizens are suing Trucare for unfair contract termination and unpaid incentives.
