The Enugu State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two men suspected of murdering Mrs. Patience Nkem Charles, age 52, in her home.
In an official statement, the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, revealed that 24-year-old Okoro Chukwuebuka Kingsley and his 18-year-old associate, Ogbonna Samuel Chiedozie, allegedly conspired to commit the crime on October 14, 2024, at Abomini Street in Enugu’s Independence Layout.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the incident may have been driven by a grudge Kingsley reportedly held against Mrs. Charles, for whom he had previously worked as a security guard in 2021.
According to DSP Ndukwe, both suspects have confessed to the crime and were subsequently detained following intelligence-led operations by the police. The suspects have since been arraigned in court and are currently being held in the Nigerian Correctional Custodial Centre.
