A heartbreaking incident has left the community of Obehie in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State in mourning as six members of a single family were found dead on Wednesday.
Neighbors made the grim discovery at Isi Obehie, sparking shock and sorrow across the community and neighboring villages. The exact cause of death remains unconfirmed, but speculation abounds. While some locals suspect generator fumes might be responsible, others believe a spiritual attack could have led to the tragic loss.
The victims include three children, their mother, the mother’s sister, and her brother-in-law. The only surviving member of the family is the father, who was not home at the time of the incident.
A source from the community revealed that the family was originally from another part of Abia State but had been residing in Obehie before their untimely deaths. The identities of the deceased have yet to be released.
ASP Maureen Chinaka, the spokesperson for the Abia State Police Command, confirmed that they have received a report on the incident and that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of death.
“We have received the report, and an investigation is underway to uncover the cause of these deaths,” ASP Chinaka stated.
