Tinubu Upgrades Federal College Of Dental Technology To University

 

The Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy in Enugu will now become a fully accredited University of Allied Health Sciences, thanks to President Bola Tinubu’s approval.

 

Ajuri Ngelale, the president’s special adviser on media and publicity, explained that the action was a component of his concerted efforts to develop strong human resources for the social welfare and health sectors.

 

The Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu will now be called as the Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy in Enugu, and it will be headquartered under the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, according to the announcement.

This directive from the president coincides with President Tinubu’s announcement that he will train 120,000 frontline health workers nationwide within 16 months and double the number of primary health facilities in local communities across all local government areas of the federation from 8,800 to over 17,000 over the next three years. President Tinubu is also recognized as the African Union Champion for Human Resources for Health.

 

In order to satisfy Nigerians’ expectations for easily accessible, reasonably priced, and high-quality healthcare services throughout the country, the Presidency also projected that the decision would double the number of health professionals graduating from recognized nursing and midwifery schools during the following three years.
