The Third Mainland Bridge is scheduled for a 24-hour closure, affecting traffic from Iyana Oworonshoki to Lagos Island, starting from midnight on Sunday, February 18, until midnight on Monday, February 19. Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, announced this measure to facilitate critical repairs on a section of the mainland bridge.
During the closure, motorists traveling from Lagos Island to Oworonshoki will have unrestricted access to the bridge. Drivers are advised to use alternative routes such as Ojota-Ikorodu Road-Funsho Williams Avenue-Eko Bridge-Apogbon-CMS, Ojota-Ikorodu Road-Jibowu-Yaba-Oyingbo-Iddo-Carter bridge-CMS, and Gbagada-Anthony-Ikorodu Road-Funsho Williams-Eko Bridge-Apogbon-CMS.
The closure aims to ensure the safety and efficiency of the bridge, and drivers are urged to follow instructions from traffic authorities and cooperate with government officials during the repair period.
