South East APGA Rejects Njoku as National Chairman, Urges INEC to De-recognize Him

The South East leadership of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) has firmly rejected Chief Edozie Njoku as the party’s National Chairman, calling on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to rescind his recognition.

In a statement issued by Rev. Augustine Ehiemere, APGA’s National Vice Chairman for the South East, the party’s leadership dismissed Njoku’s alleged recognition by INEC as a “joke taken too far.” Ehiemere emphasized that Njoku was never elected at any APGA National convention nor declared National Chairman by any court, questioning the legitimacy of his claim to the position.

“Njoku’s name cannot be found in any APGA membership register,” Ehiemere stated. “It is inconceivable for a non-member to parade as the party’s National Chairman. Chief Sly Ezeokenwa, elected at the APGA 2023 convention in Awka, remains the authentic National Chairman.”

Ehiemere also reaffirmed the recognition of Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State as APGA’s national leader, urging the public to disregard Njoku and his associates. He threatened to expose those allegedly sponsoring efforts to destabilize APGA, asserting that their mission is doomed to fail.

The statement from the South East APGA leadership reads in part: “We vehemently reject the purported declaration of Edozie Njoku and his alleged recognition by INEC as APGA National Chairman. We call on INEC to urgently de-recognize him and revert to the authentic National Chairman, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa.”

“Edozie Njoku was never declared APGA National Chairman. He has never been a product of any APGA National convention. His name is absent from any legitimate APGA membership register. Allowing a non-member to claim leadership is an aberration that must not stand.”

The statement continued, “South East APGA members and leadership will continue to resist his recognition by INEC until it is revoked. We reaffirm our loyalty to Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa and recognize Gov. Chukwuma Soludo as our national leader.”

APGA members nationwide, particularly in the South East, were urged to remain calm and focused, ignoring the distractions caused by Njoku and his supporters. The statement also hinted at revealing those funding efforts to destabilize the party in a future media briefing.
