The first SSG campaign awareness team was launched on Thursday at Ochanja Central Market in Onitsha by Chief Chinedu Nwoye, National Convener of Soludo Solution Group (SSG), in an effort to raise awareness of the accomplishments of Anambra State Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo as the 2025 gubernatorial election gains momentum. Surrounded by SSG executive members and the market chairman, Chief Bonaventure Muo, Chief Nwonye bemoaned the fact that the state’s adversaries had persisted in portraying the governor negatively in spite of his many accomplishments. He advised the public and traders to ignore the theatrics of the opposition, claiming that they have never considered the positive aspects of things and are just interested in damaging the governor’s reputation, which has an impact on every area of the economy.
He claims that the state’s quick infrastructure development has given the public trust in him and the expectation that, by the end of his first term, he will do even more. In addition to pleading with traders to ensure prompt payment of their stallage and other levies for the development of the state and revealing that the governor has refused to borrow any money for the state, Chief Nwonye commended market chairman Muo and urged him not to relent in his efforts towards the rapid development of the market.
He enumerated the governor’s accomplishments, which included building approximately 400 km of roads, of which about 240 km have already been finished and put to use; providing watertight security; hiring 5000 teachers and 1000 medical professionals; getting rid of touts; installing solar street lights; and creating job opportunities through the one man, two skills initiative, among other things.
