Senate Postpones Resumption Date to April 23rd After Easter and Sallah Break

In a recent announcement, the Senate has decided to extend its ongoing Easter and Sallah break by an additional week. Originally scheduled to reconvene on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, the Senate’s resumption date has been rescheduled to Tuesday, April 23, 2024.

The Clerk of the Senate, Chinedu Francis Akubueze, issued a statement regarding this postponement, citing unforeseen circumstances as the reason behind the decision. The statement expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the change in schedule.

“Distinguished Senators are hereby informed that the plenary sitting of the Senate, initially slated for Tuesday, April 16, 2024, will now take place on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. This adjustment is due to unforeseen circumstances, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused,” the statement read.

The Senate’s decision to postpone its resumption underscores the importance of flexibility in accommodating unexpected events while ensuring the smooth functioning of legislative activities.
