“Real Peace can sometimes come from Staying Apart” – Yul Edochie Tells Psquare

Nigerian actor Yul Edochie has weighed in on the ongoing family feud between the iconic music duo, Psquare, offering a thoughtful perspective on the situation amid widespread public calls for the brothers to reconcile.

In a heartfelt message posted on his Instagram page on Thursday, Yul Edochie reflected on the challenges of maintaining close familial relationships, particularly when unresolved tensions threaten the peace and well-being of those involved.

Edochie pointed out that while unity is often idealized, sometimes true peace can only be achieved by maintaining distance from certain individuals, even if they are family. He suggested that staying too close in strained relationships might actually exacerbate conflicts, leading to further emotional and mental distress.

Expressing his happiness at the idea of Peter and Paul Okoye (Rudeboy and Mr. P) reuniting, Edochie also emphasized that the brothers should prioritize their mental health and overall happiness. If being together poses a risk to their peace of mind, Edochie advised that separation might be the healthier choice.

He wrote, “I see people say, Rudeboy, go and make peace with your brother, Mr. P. I just laugh. Many people still don’t understand what life is about. Sometimes real peace comes from staying apart. Sometimes even some family members have to be blocked to achieve peace.”

Edochie further elaborated on the importance of self-care and setting boundaries, even with loved ones. He noted that in a world filled with stress and pressure, especially for men, prioritizing one’s mental and emotional well-being is crucial.

He added, “Sometimes you just have to relate with people from a distance to have peace. Trying to be close will kill you; life is short, especially for men. Small thing man, don fall, too much stress—that’s why we have many widows everywhere. So, you have to be intentional about your life and life na per head.”

The actor’s advice comes at a time when many fans and observers are eager to see Psquare, once Nigeria’s most beloved music duo, resolve their differences and return to making music together. However, Edochie’s message serves as a reminder that peace and happiness should come first, even if it means staying apart.

He concluded, “Block anybody that needs to be blocked so you can have peace; don’t look back. Fight for yourself. Stay alive. It’s good to see Psquare together, but if they have to stay apart to be happy and alive for us, let them stay apart. We love them regardless.”

Edochie’s perspective has resonated with many, offering a fresh take on the dynamics of family relationships and the importance of protecting one’s peace, even in the face of public expectations.
