Modi’s coalition, the National Democratic Alliance, clinched a majority of parliamentary seats, marking a historic achievement akin to India’s legendary leader Jawaharlal Nehru. Despite initial expectations, the NDA secured 286 seats, surpassing the required 272 for a majority.
