Pope Francis has provided clarity on his stance regarding the blessing of same-sex unions by Catholic priests.
In December, the 87-year-old pontiff sparked discussions when he expressed that blessing same-sex couples is “an expression of the Church’s maternal heart,” following earlier remarks suggesting openness to such blessings.

“I cannot bless the union because it is not a sacrament ordained by the Lord. However, I do bless each person. The blessing is for everyone,” the Pope stated.
