The Enugu State Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, has initiated a comprehensive investigation following the tragic shooting and death of Chinedu Edeh at Echara Road, Nsukka. The incident, involving a police officer, occurred on June 23, 2024.
CP Uzuegbu has tasked the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) with leading a full-scale, thorough investigation. The goal is to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal incident and ensure that any parties found responsible, particularly the alleged officer, face appropriate legal action.
In his statement, CP Uzuegbu extended his condolences to the family and friends of Chinedu Edeh. He confirmed that the victim was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. His body has been placed in the mortuary pending an autopsy.

DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Enugu State Command, also reiterated the commitment to a transparent investigation. He encouraged the public to trust the process and await the outcomes of the inquiry.
