PDP House Of Reps Candidate Killed By Gunmen

Jude Oguejiofor, a former candidate from Anambra State for the House of Representatives, was shot and killed by gunmen.

While residing in Nnewi in the state’s Nnewi North Local Government Area, Mr. Oguejiofor was originally from Orsumoghu in the Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra.

In the general elections of 2023, Mr. Oguejiofor, a lawyer, ran on the Peoples Democratic Party ticket for the House of Representatives seat for the Ihiala Federal Constituency.

The lawmaker and his brother were kidnapped by armed individuals last week at around one in the morning.

They had gone to see their elderly parents in the Orsumoghu Community when the tragedy occurred.

However, the shooters later freed his brother without incident.

The brother is a physician who just returned from a trip abroad.

According to a family-friendly source, the gunmen accused Mr. Oguejiofor of penning petitions criticizing the family and their involvement in the neighborhood.

“They said he had been writing petitions against them to the Anambra State Government,” the source said.
