Due to their exhibition of falsified admission letters, 238 Imo State University, or IMSU, students have received recommendations for expulsion from the school.
In a press release dated Wednesday and signed by Ralph Njoku, the university’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), it was revealed that the affected students had used their parents’ and guardians’ assistance to illegally get access to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and IMSU websites.
Then, some of the applicants printed fictitious admission documents and pretended to be students at Imo State University in Owerri.
“The said candidates who are flaunting fake admission letters are not our students,” the notification states.

“It is important for parents to understand that these con artists’ actions have seriously threatened the futures of their children and wards.
“We know our students who are legally admitted into the university but names of those who are fraudulently parading fake admission letters have been published in some local tabloids for the public to take note of.
“The institution is still investigating how the two hundred and thirty-eight students were illegally admitted into Imo State University.”
