Mcsmith Ochendo, a popular comic actor-turned-musician, has made a notable return to the Nigerian music industry, 16 years after the release of his debut album, Da Cornerstone in 2008. Ochendo’s comeback is marked by a new single titled “If No Be God,” featuring Marvellous Benjy, which is part of his upcoming album, The Pacesetter. The song, an expression of gratitude, is now available on all major digital platforms.
Reflecting on his new release, Ochendo explained that “If No Be God” serves as his personal way of giving thanks to God for the blessings he has received. “I wouldn’t have been where I am today if God was not interested in my case,” Ochendo shared, emphasizing his deep faith and appreciation.
Ochendo’s journey into music began in 2005 when he was professionally mentored by Marvellous Benjy, a well-known figure in the Nigerian music scene. He launched his music career with the album *Da Cornerstone* in 2008 but then took a lengthy hiatus from the music industry. Now, he’s back with renewed energy and a clear message. “I didn’t become a musician by accident,” Ochendo stated. “It was something I have always wanted to do.”
