The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Anambra State Command, announced that it has deployed over 951 personnel to protect worship centres across the state during the Eid-el-Fitr festival. Maku Olatunde, the State Commandant of the NSCDC, stated this in Awka on Monday via an operational order issued to all area commanders and divisional officers, heads of information, and tactical units, instructing them to ensure adequate security coverage and peaceful Sallah celebrations in the state.
He said, “Proactive and robust anti-crime measures, including deployment of tactical and intelligence assets of the command, are already in place to prevent any untoward incidents in and around the state.
“To ensure that Muslims in the state have a hitch-free Eid-Fitr celebration, the command has mobilised operatives to cover all nooks and crannies of the state, which include Eid praying grounds, recreational centres and other public places.
