Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has initiated legal proceedings against Yusuf Bichi, the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), accusing him of defying court orders.
Through his lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, Kanu filed a contempt charge at the Federal High Court in Abuja, alleging that Bichi failed to adhere to directives issued by Justice Binta Nyako on May 20.
In the application, Kanu contends that despite being served with the court orders, Bichi has not complied with various directives, including the provision of adequate facilities for Kanu’s defense preparation and the allowance of necessary legal documents.
The application seeks Bichi’s committal to prison for alleged disobedience to the court’s orders. Bichi is required to appear in court to show cause why such an order should not be issued against him.
