The Nigeria Labour Congress has extended an open invitation to the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, granting him the liberty to disassociate himself from the NLC.
Spokesperson Benson Upah, speaking to Punch on Sunday, confirmed the organization’s stance.
NLC leadership remains steadfast in its determination to remove Julius Abure from the position of national chairman of the Labour Party, denouncing the recent convention that reinstated him.
Upah emphasized the union’s refusal to acknowledge Abure’s leadership legitimacy, stating, “As far as we know, he does not exist.”
In parallel, retired workers from the Lagos Assembly of Labour Veterans and Trade Unionists have demanded the resignation of both the embattled national chairman and NLC President Joe Ajaero due to their ongoing power struggle.
