NLC Declares Nationwide Protests Over Economic Hardship

In response to the crippling economic hardships faced by Nigerians, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has announced a two-day nationwide protest scheduled for February 27th and 28th, 2024.

Joe Ajaero, the President of the NLC, made the declaration during a press conference held at the Labour House headquarters in Abuja on Friday.

The decision to protest comes after the expiration of a 14-day ultimatum issued to the Federal Government, demanding urgent reforms to alleviate the prevailing economic crisis.

Ajaero emphasized the necessity of the protests, citing the government’s failure to implement agreements reached in October aimed at ameliorating the plight of citizens and workers.

The protests aim to pressure the government into taking immediate action to address the escalating cost of living and widespread hardship experienced by Nigerians.
