Maj.-Gen. Hassan Dada, the commander of the Joint Task Force for Southeast Operation Udo Ka, has stated that he is steadfast in his resolve to bringing peace back to the southeast. This was said by Mr. Dada, who is also the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 82nd Division of the Nigerian Army, to the troops on Thursday during a sallah luncheon at the naval facility in the Oguta council area of Imo.
The Commander vowed unwavering support for civil authorities in their efforts to guarantee the restoration and maintenance of regional peace in order to promote long-term economic growth.
He thanked all of the operation’s security officers for their tenacity and said that without their combined efforts, the results that have been reported thus far would not have been possible.
The Commander reiterated his commitment to maintaining peace in the division’s responsibilities and thanked Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, and Gen. Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, for their moral support as well as other assistance.
“After consistent efforts by our troops and security personnel of the Operation Udo Ka, there is tremendous improvement in security and we will not rest on our oars until peace totally returns.

“We urge the civil populace to embrace this fight against insecurity and not hesitate to share useful information with us to aid our efforts,” he said.
The operation’s Maritime Component Commander, Commodore Mohammed Salisu, stated earlier in his introductory speech that the goal of the meal was to raise troop and officer morale for the improvement of the operation.
While guaranteeing that the operation would “continue to leverage its successes” for ongoing operations, he urged increased collaboration across security services.
However, he expressed gratitude to Imo Governor Hope Uzodinma for creating an atmosphere that made the operation possible, particularly in some areas of the state.
Brig.-Gen. Usman Lawal, the commander of the 34 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Obinze, in Owerri, and the commander of the Land Component of the operation, also expressed gratitude to the CDS for providing all necessary equipment and logistical assistance. He also reaffirmed his commitment to the safety and security of Imo, the southeast, and all of Nigeria. The GOC’s meal handout to the operation’s soldiers and officers as a token of gratitude for their allegiance was one of the event’s highlights.
