To aid in the fight against drug addiction in the state’s rural areas and local governments, the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Abia State Command, has called for the formation of a committee.
During his visit to Mrs. Pricilla Otti, the wife of Abia State Governor, Mr. Adelawa Adetunji, the Commandant of the NDLEA for Abia State, made the request in Umuahia.
The NDLEA Commandant stated that the formation of a committee against drug abuse will aid in the work of other anti-drug committees in the state’s local communities and that his command was working in tandem with the governor’s office of Abia State to eradicate the problem of drug misuse.
He said that the cooperation between NDLEA and the office of the wife of the Abia State Governor was for the benefit of the State and the people, and he praised the governor’s wife for her commitment to ending drug misuse in the state.

The governor of Abia State’s wife, Mrs. Pricilla Otti, stated in her speech that her office was working with the NDLEA to address the problem and that the state government was committed to ending drug usage in the state.
Mrs. Otti pledged that the fight against drug usage in Abia will be enforced by the formation of a drug committee.
She commended the management and employees of the NDLEA in Abia for their efforts in reducing drug abuse in the State and stated that a rehabilitation center would be completed in the state to care for individuals spared from drug addiction.
