Naira Expected to Strengthen Against Dollar, Says Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima remains bullish on the Naira’s performance, foreseeing a continued appreciation against the dollar in the forex market.

Speaking at a meeting with officials of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Shettima credited President Bola Tinubu for ending fuel subsidies and unifying the exchange rate to curb overnight wealth accumulation.

“Naira fluctuated wildly, but with Tinubu’s leadership, we’re witnessing a positive shift,” Shettima remarked.

Highlighting Tinubu’s governance in Lagos as pivotal for the state’s development, Shettima affirmed the administration’s commitment to tackling power challenges and fostering youth employment.

Addressing concerns raised by LCCI President Gabriel Idahosa regarding national security and economic policies, Shettima emphasized the government’s dedication to fostering credit access, investment, and entrepreneurship, particularly in key sectors like agriculture, manufacturing, and power technology.
