Motorists Raise Alarm Over Spate Of Kidnapping Along Enugu-Abakaliki Highway

The high rate of kidnapping of innocent motorists on the Idodo axis of the Enugu-Abakaliki Motorway is getting concerning and disturbing. Motorists on the highway have urged the Ebonyi and Enugu state governments to increase security on the ever-busy road. A staff member at Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki was recently kidnapped, and his family and friends raised ₦4 million to secure his release, according to reports.

A woman from No 10 Bende Street, Kpirikpiri, Abakaliki, the state capital, is currently kidnapped. The Enugu State Governor, along with security services, must try to put an end to the terrible incidence on that route.

 

“Former Enugu Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi did so on the Nsukka Opi road, and we trust Mbah can do the same”, the motorists added.
