In a tragic incident at Centro Universitario UTEG in Guadalajara, Mexico, a man, approximately 20 years old, fatally stabbed two women. The assailant, armed with a knife and a hatchet, shattered windows upon entering the campus. According to Luis Joaquin Mendez, prosecutor for Jalisco state, the attack seemed indiscriminate, with the assailant targeting the first individuals he encountered.
Additionally, another man was injured during the assault. Authorities have apprehended the attacker and are probing potential connections to a separate case involving a deceased woman found in a hotel on the same day.
This incident adds to the alarming statistics of violence against women in Mexico, with at least 852 cases of femicide reported last year.
