Liberian President Joseph Boakai has appointed Major General Charles Johnson (retd.) as the Director of the National Security Agency, pending confirmation by the Liberian Senate. This move follows Johnson’s recent resignation as Minister of National Defence and his notable tenure leading the Armed Forces of Liberia as its Chief of Staff for six years.
A native of Monrovia, Major General Johnson’s military expertise is underscored by his training at the prestigious Nigeria Army School of Infantry in Jaji, Kaduna State, and his alma mater status at the United States Army Command and General Staff College.
