Labour Party Moves National Convention To Anambra Amid Crisis

The Labour Party’s (LP) national convention has been rescheduled to take place in Anambra state instead of Abia state at the International Conference Centre (ICC) Umuahia.

According to our correspondent, some partygoers were taken aback by the location change because they had reserved and paid for hotel rooms.

Our correspondent was able to receive a letter dated March 20 that was signed by the party’s national secretary, Alhaji Umar Farouk, and national chairman, Julius Abure. In it, the parties stated that the congress will now take place in the Grand Masons Hotel in Nnewi, Anambra state.

The statement claims that the prior location’s unavailability for the conference on the planned date was the reason for the venue change.

The message confirmed that the congress will take place on Wednesday, March 27, at 10:00 am, and acknowledged any potential inconveniences. It also asked members to attend and follow the congress.
