Enugu State Police Command has concluded the orderly room trial of Inspector Ozonwanji Joseph, who was implicated in the tragic murder of renowned Enugu Ogene musician, Chikezie Okezie Nwamba. After being found culpable, the Inspector was dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force and subsequently arraigned in court for murder, marking a significant step in the pursuit of justice.
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police of Zone 13, which oversees Anambra and Enugu States, approved the recommendations following Inspector Joseph’s orderly room trial, calling for his dismissal and prosecution in court. Today, October 28, 2024, he faced arraignment at the Enugu East Magistrate Court. The Chief Magistrate, in turn, ordered that the former officer be remanded in the Enugu Correctional Custodial Centre, pending further action. The case file has been transmitted to the Attorney General of Enugu State for continued judicial proceedings, with a follow-up hearing scheduled for November 12, 2024.
