The 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results were recently unveiled by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). During a press briefing in Bwari, Abuja, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of JAMB, disclosed that out of the 1,904,189 candidates who participated in the exam, the results of 64,624 candidates are currently withheld for further investigation.
In addition to this, Oloyede highlighted that although 1,989,668 candidates registered for the UTME, a significant number, 80,810, were marked absent during the examination.
Of the registered candidates, 1,842,464 have received their results, while the remaining 64,624 are undergoing scrutiny for various reasons, including verification, procedural investigation, and alleged misconduct.

Furthermore, JAMB is actively addressing concerns regarding candidates with multiple National Identification Numbers (NIN) and is set to collaborate with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to resolve these issues.
In the pursuit of global outreach, JAMB conducts examinations in nine foreign centers, including Abidjan, Addis Ababa, Buea, Cotonou, London, Jeddah, and Johannesburg. This initiative not only promotes Nigerian institutions internationally but also enhances the universality of academic traditions.
As the examination board fine-tunes arrangements for the conduct of the 2024 UTME in these foreign centers, further details will be provided in due course.
