The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have issued a call to Igbo entrepreneurs and investors to imitate Evang Ebuka Obi, and bring their businesses back to the Southeast region of Nigeria, highlighting that Alaigbo is a safe and welcoming environment for investments.
In a statement released on Tuesday, IPOB spokesperson Emma Powerful urged Igbo businesspeople to return their investments to the Southeast, assuring them that the region is large and secure enough to accommodate their businesses.
Recent reports have indicated growing dissatisfaction among Igbo business owners in Lagos and other states, who have faced unfriendly government policies and negative attitudes from host communities. Despite reassurances from local authorities regarding the safety of their enterprises, many Igbo entrepreneurs remain wary.
IPOB praised Evangelist Ebuka Obi, the founder of Zion Ministry, for relocating his ministry’s headquarters from Lagos to Ngor Okpala in Imo State. The organization commended Obi’s move as a positive step towards the economic revitalization of the Southeast and urged other Igbo investors to follow suit.
“The bold decision by Evangelist Ebuka Obi to bring his ministry back to Alaigbo is a demonstration of his commitment to his homeland. We urge all Igbo businesspeople to consider relocating their investments back home to support regional development,” IPOB stated.

IPOB emphasized the importance of developing the Southeast into a major economic hub, calling for the return of industries, companies, and investments. The group highlighted the contributions of existing businesses in the region, such as Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing, Ibeto Group, and Geometric Power Plant, and expressed appreciation for the efforts of local traders and farmers.
The statement also appealed to the youth and traditional leaders of Ngor Okpala to work towards creating a crime-free environment, which would further attract investments and provide job opportunities.
In conclusion, IPOB reiterated its call for Ndigbo at home and abroad to bring their investments back to the Southeast, stating that doing so would ensure the safety and security of their assets for future generations. The group also emphasized that the Eastern Security Network (ESN) is committed to maintaining safety in Alaigbo as efforts to establish a sovereign Biafra Nation continue.
“Bringing our investments home is essential for the prosperity of Alaigbo and the realization of our collective aspirations. We urge all Ndigbo to contribute to the economic growth of our region by returning their businesses and investments to our homeland,” the statement concluded.
