INEC To Hold Supplementary Elections In Taraba, Enugu on Valentine’s day

 

The Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituencies of Taraba State will host supplemental elections the following week, according to information released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The same procedure would take place in the Enugu South 1 State Constituency, according to a statement signed by Sam Olumekun, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee.

The INEC National Commissioner asked all political parties and candidates to persuade their agents and followers to keep the peace during voting ahead of the next election.

The statement says, in part, “The Commission hereby announces the full details of the polling units involved in the election and the three local government areas that make up the constituency. This is in addition to our earlier statement in which Wednesday, February 14, 2024, was fixed for supplementary elections in the Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency of Taraba State.

“The returning officer has announced that there would be supplemental elections in 24 polling units for the constituency: 15 polling units in Jalingo, 7 polling units in Yorro, and 2 polling units in Zing.

“The names and specifics of the delimitation of the eight polling units in the Enugu South 1 State Constituency, where the election is scheduled for Wednesday, February 14, 2024, are unaltered.

“All political parties and candidates are urged to ask their agents and supporters to keep the peace while voting.”
