All of the commissioner nominees on the list that Governor Hope Uzodinma provided for ratification and confirmation were confirmed by the Imo State House of Assembly on Thursday.
Declan Emelumba, the immediate past commissioner for information and strategy, Ralph Nwosu, the immediate past commissioner for works, and Chimezie Amadi, the immediate past commissioner of digital economy and e-govt, are among those confirmed by the Assembly.
The others are Obinna Onyeocha-Everistus, Cosmos Maduba, the recently appointed commissioner for agriculture and natural resources, Major Emenike, the recently appointed commissioner for the environment, Lady Nkechi Ugwu, Anselm Anyanwu, Dr. Chika Abazu, and Modestus Osakwe.
Prior to the exercise, the governor sent 12 names for screening in the first batch, according to the Clerk of the House of Assembly, Mrs. Chinelo Emeghara. Four more names are anticipated. It should be noted that the governor dissolved his cabinet on January 16, 2024, the day after his inauguration on January 15, 2024.
