Imo NYSC Sensitises Staff On Pension Matters

The Imo State Secretariat of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has encouraged its staff to approach retirement with joy and eagerness by adhering to the necessary pre-retirement processes on time. This would help to minimize any problems and ensure a smooth transition from paid employment to retirement.

The purpose of the Pension Matters Sensitization exercise, which was conducted by Management, was to educate the staff about the challenges experienced by retired, retiring, and current officers of the Scheme, according to Mrs. Rachel Idaewor, the State Coordinator for NYSC Imo State.

She clarified that if an officer is ready for the time, they won’t be taken by surprise or become upset; instead, they will be anticipating brighter days after retirement.

During an interactive presentation, Mrs. Lilian Ngwu, Assistant Director of Human Resource Management, urged staff members to regularly inquire about updates from their Retirement Savings Account (RSA) officers at their different Pension Funds Administrators (PFA), guarantee early retirement process enrollment, refrain from obtaining two PINs or capturing, and avoid getting caught in the awkward situation of being unable to access their funds.

Additionally, they must guarantee that PFAs cannot alter their RSA without their permission.

She also gave them further information on the main modules for tipping.

The officials were well-informed on Pension Matters in the Scheme at the well-attended event.
