Imo Commissioner Of Police Meets Community Leaders Over Killings Of Five Youths

Aboki Danjuma, the commissioner of police for Imo State, met with representatives of the Abacheke community in the state’s Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area on the Friday killings of five of the community’s youths.


Motorcyclist gunmen had broken into the neighborhood and started shooting intermittently. Four local adolescents lost their lives in the process, while one was hurt and taken to the hospital.


However, Henry Okoye, the state police spokesperson, said in a statement that the CP had met with community stakeholders and had attempted to put an end to killings in the community, even though he had confirmed the deaths of five people.


According to the report, sufficient security measures have been put in place to improve the general safety, security, and wellness of the residents of the Abacheke village and other communities in Ohaji/Egbema LGA. The meeting was attended by Goodluck Opiah, the recently appointed Minister of State for Education.

“In furtherance of his unflinching dedication and community policing-oriented approach to combating crime, the Commissioner Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma, on Monday, March 11, 2024, convened a pivotal security meeting with the stakeholders of Abacheke in Ohaji/Egbema LGA of Imo State for an over the recent gruesome murder of five residents of Abacheke community by gunmen.


“The all-important meeting which was at the palace of the traditional ruler of Abacheke Community, HRH Eze Ikeji Bright, Eze Osichi Orumara had in attendance the former speaker, Imo State House of Assembly and immediate past Minister of State Education, Rt. Hon. Bright Nanah Opiah.” the statement further said.
