Ned Nwoko, the Delta North Senator, has revealed that he secured over N1 billion for community-driven initiatives outlined in the 2024 budget.
Echoing sentiments expressed by Senator Ali Ndume, Nwoko emphasized the varying allocation amounts among legislators, underscoring the influence of lobbying efforts and networking on resource distribution.
In a recent podcast, Nwoko advocated for a more equitable distribution system, suggesting a standardized approach to funding across all senatorial districts. He stressed the funds are earmarked for essential infrastructure projects such as roads, water systems, and educational programs.

When pressed on his specific allocation, Nwoko affirmed receiving substantial funding, asserting it’s vital for fulfilling his duties to his constituents.
Nwoko’s disclosure comes amidst Senator Abdul Ningi’s allegations of budget inflation, adding an extra N3.7 trillion without corresponding project delineation.
Although the Senate refutes any impropriety, Nwoko reiterated the funds are designated for public projects, not personal remuneration for lawmakers.
