Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has expressed profound shock and sadness over the unexpected death of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who served as the representative for Anambra South Senatorial District.
Ubah, the Chief Executive Officer of Capital Oil, passed away in a London hotel on Saturday at the age of 52. As a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), his death has left many in disbelief.
In a heartfelt tribute on X.com, Obi recounted his recent meeting with Ubah at the burial of Chief Pius Onwuzo in Nnewi, Anambra State, where they shared a warm moment despite their political differences.
“I received a rude shock this morning upon hearing the news of the death of my dear younger brother, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah. We were together on July 12 at Chief Pius Onwuzo’s burial in Nnewi,” Obi wrote. “Senator Ubah personally welcomed me and invited me for lunch, but I had to reschedule due to prior engagements.”

Obi concluded his tribute with prayers for Ubah’s family and all those affected by his loss. “May God Almighty forgive his sins and grant him eternal rest. May his family, the Anambra South Senatorial District, Anambra State, and all of us find the strength to bear this irreplaceable loss. God Almighty protect and bless his family always.”
