In a strategic move to rejuvenate Heartland Football Club, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has appointed the esteemed football administrator Emmanuel Amuneke as the club’s new Technical Manager.
The unveiling ceremony occurred on Monday, August 5, 2024, at the New Executive Council Chambers, Government House Owerri.
According to a statement released by Oguwike Nwachuku, Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser to the governor, Uzodimma underscored the importance of revamping the club to secure a prosperous future.
Reflecting on the club’s relegation when he took office in 2020, Uzodimma detailed his efforts to restore Heartland FC to the Nigeria Premier Football League. Despite recent challenges, he stressed, “The Football Club has experienced setbacks and can only be revived by overhauling the administrative structure and enhancing the management and technical team.”
Governor Uzodimma expressed strong confidence in Amuneke’s expertise, lauding him as one of Nigeria’s foremost figures in football management and technical know-how.
