*Gov Otti: “No Part Of Abia Will Be Left Behind In Infrastructural Development”*
Abia State Governor Alex Otti officially opened the 30-kilometer Arochukwu-Ndi Okereke-Ozu Abam Road, promising to complete road infrastructure development throughout the entire state.
During the flag-off ceremony, Otti made this statement at Amuvi, Arochukwu, stating that one of his government’s top priorities was to improve both rural and urban communities’ living conditions by consistently removing the various obstacles that prevented people and businesses from operating to their maximum potential.
He lamented that previous state governments had neglected some of the state’s economically viable roadways, leaving them in a bad state, and stated it was impossible to calculate the financial damage.
In order to increase the State’s agricultural output and expand economic corridors that will create jobs for young people and slow the migration of people from rural to urban areas, he explained that the key to fixing rural roads was to connect agricultural roads with urban areas.
“Farmers in rural communities find it difficult to move their produce to the markets leading to post harvest losses. As a government that made covenant to bring succour to the people after many years of frustrations, we knew that road construction, rehabilitation and maintenance must be made major priority long before we took our oath of office.

“Fixing this road simultaneously with the Umuahia- Uzuakoli-Abiriba-Ohafia road is a strategic initiative to guarantee that a stretch of road from this axis is in optimal shape, making the movement of people, agro and allied communities from the northern part of the state to the urban centres,” he said.
The governor of Abia State hired seasoned contractors to manage road construction in the state, and he promised that the road would be finished in a year.
He took use of the occasion to urge Abians to consistently pay their taxes. In order to guarantee that construction on the federal road connecting Umuahia, Bende, Ohafia, and Arochukwu resumes, he also told them that talks with the federal government were ongoing.
