A recent Abia State Polytechnic, Aba graduate was crushed to death not long after receiving her clearance to report for the NYSC.
On Tuesday, March 5, a fast-moving tanker struck and killed Miss Ezekiel Mary Ogechi in front of the institution.
It was stated that Ogechi received a first-class diploma from the Polytechnic’s accounting department. After that, she went to the school to get her academic records cleared in order to enroll in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.
After completing the clearance, she said said her goodbye to her coworkers and left the school, beaming that she would soon be called up to the NYSC.
An eyewitness said that She attempted to cross the road to the opposite side when she was struck by a trike. A fast-moving truck then crushed her before she could stand up.

Raised by her impoverished mother, Ogechi was rumored to have been awarded a scholarship by an organization to pursue a post-graduate degree prior to her untimely death.
After she was crushed to death, the tanker that killed her was surrounded by furious Abia State Polytechnic students who had stormed the roadway.
“The management of the Abia State Polytechnic and the Students Union Government of the institution saved the day as the angry students were begged to calm down,” the source further stated.
No statement had been issued by the Polytechnic about the development as of the time of filing this report.
