Five IPOB fighters Killed In Imo State

Five suspected Indigenous People of Biafra/Eastern Security Network (IPOB/ESN) members were slain by troops on an operation in the South East during a clash that broke out at Ejemekuru in the Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State.

During the raid on March 1, the soldiers, who were members of the Nigerian Army and Navy, also found a “significant cache of dangerous weapons,” according to Maj.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, the Army spokesperson, said yesterday.

An AK-47 rifle, two pump-action semiautomatic rifles, a locally made gun, two magazines, and three rounds of special 7.62mm ammunition are among the weapons that were found, he claims.

Nwachukwu added that on the same day, 15 abducted victims were freed by soldiers participating in a counterterrorism operation in the North West.
