Due to necessity, the federal government will provide contemporary medical equipment to a hospital in the Oji River local area of Enugu state. This would facilitate easier access to high-quality healthcare for local residents and those from nearby cities. The intervention comes in response to a complaint lodged by Hon. Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu, who represents the federal constituency of Awgu/Aninri/Oji River, about the lack of a functional public hospital in his area. Speaking on Sunday, March 24, at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Oji River. The federal government will invest up to one billion naira in the project for health equipment and other facilities, according to Hon. Onwuegbu. This guarantees that the hospital equipment supply will be finished by the end of December this year.
He stated,”As a member of the House of Representatives,I want to say before the people of God that I am personally taking up the challenge of the non-functional hospital in our constituency and before December this year,We will change the narrative.

“Many thanks to the federal government of Nigeria who listened to my cry and we have gotten direct grant to furnish one hospital in Oji River. Hospital equipment worth over one billion naira will be coming within the next 60 days”,Hon Onwuegbu assured.
Investigations found that every public hospital in the Oji River local government area is currently in a state of near-coma. Of particular note are the Oji River General Hospital and the Achi Joint Hospital, which were crucial in the medical field of the now-defunct Eastern Nigeria, especially the former Awgu division.
