In a bid to showcase the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Week has been scheduled from May 27 to June 6 for the inauguration of various projects. Mr. Nyesom Wike, the Minister of FCT, revealed this during his inspection of ongoing projects.
The highlight of the inauguration will be on May 27, with President Tinubu inaugurating the commercial operations of the Abuja Light Rail (Abuja Metro Line). Final inspections are slated for May 20 to ensure a smooth launch.
Wike expressed confidence in the completion of the Vice-President’s residence along Aso Drive, hinting at a possible inauguration on June 6.
The week-long event aims to showcase the administration’s commitment to revitalizing Nigeria. Wike emphasized the seamless execution of projects and assured that promised timelines were met.

Several projects, including bus terminals and the FCT Court of Appeal Division, are set for inauguration during this period.
Addressing concerns about non-functioning streetlights, Wike clarified that ongoing maintenance and testing were underway. He assured residents of restored functionality before the inauguration.
Regarding distractions from developments in Rivers, Wike reaffirmed his focus on his ministerial duties, stating, “I am the Minister of FCT, and work is going on. I don’t even think about it at all.”
