The Southeast region of Nigeria is set to experience a significant boost in its tourism, travel, and aviation sectors with the inauguration of the Jands Travel Business School in Enugu. This initiative by Jands Travel Network aims to foster growth and awareness in these industries, providing valuable opportunities for the local economy.
During a recent press conference, Mrs. Chioma Obi, Managing Director of Jands Travel Network, highlighted the motivations behind establishing the school in Enugu. With over a decade of experience in the industry, Mrs. Obi emphasized the need for the Southeast to tap into the travel and tourism sector’s vast potential.
“We chose Enugu for this initiative because the Southeast is a hub of travelers, importers, exporters, and entrepreneurs,” Mrs. Obi explained. “The region contributes significantly to Nigeria’s travel industry, and it’s crucial that our people have access to education and training in this field. Unlike the Western part of Nigeria, which has several aviation schools, the Southeast needs a comprehensive institution that covers all aspects of travel, tourism, and hospitality.”
Jands Travel Business School offers a diverse range of courses designed to equip students with the necessary skills to thrive in the industry. From Travel Business Foundation and Visa Applications to Ticketing, Customer Service, and Hotel Operations, the curriculum is extensive. Mrs. Obi noted that students can learn at their own pace, eliminating the need to travel to other regions for quality education.

“We provide a full-blown inclusive learning platform for Nigerian youth who aspire to start a business in the travel industry,” Mrs. Obi stated. “Our mentorship program ensures that graduates are registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA), and other industry associations, setting them up for success.”
The school boasts experienced facilitators, including Mrs. Ruth Mbgemena, a seasoned professional with nearly fifteen years in the industry. Mrs. Mbgemena, who has worked with Bellview Airlines and Galileo, brings her expertise to the Ticketing and Reservations course, teaching students the technicalities of flight reservation, ticket issuing, and industry ethics.
“Our facilitators are among the best in the aviation industry,” added Mr. Valentine Obi, Executive Director of Marketing at Jands Travel Network. “Excellence is our core value, and we are committed to delivering top-notch services.”
As Jands Travel Business School begins its operations, the founders are optimistic about the future. “We hope
