Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has dismissed Dr. Gabriel Ajah from his position as Chairman of the Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB). Dr. Hyginus Bankho has been appointed as his immediate successor.
The announcement of Ajah’s removal was made during an emergency meeting with the board’s staff, where Ajah, a former Secretary to the State Government under ex-Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, informed his colleagues about the governor’s directive.
Governor Mbah’s administration has carried out a minor reshuffling of the board, resulting in the appointment of Bankho, previously a member of the board, as the new chairman. Additionally, Dr. Amaka Ngene, formerly Member 1 of ENSUBEB, has been reassigned as the Chairman of the Science, Technical, and Vocational Schools Management Board (STVSMB).
The state government has not provided a reason for Ajah’s removal.
