The Enugu State Police Command has confirmed the arrest, arraignment, and remand of 30-year-old Tsehemba Joshua, accused of armed robbery and the murder of Yusuf Ibrahim, a 19-year-old scrap scavenger. Joshua allegedly collaborated with two unidentified accomplices, who are still at large, to rob and strangle the victim. Following his court appearance, he was remanded at the Enugu Correctional Custodial Centre.
The arrest was made by officers from the Udenu Police Division after local residents reported a shallow grave in the Ojo River area of Ogbodu-Aba, located within Obollo Community in Udenu Local Government Area. Investigations revealed that on October 2, 2024, Joshua allegedly lured the victim under the guise of selling a scrap motor vehicle part, robbed him of N100,000, and then strangled and buried him.
The case, thoroughly investigated by the Campus Monitoring/Anti-Cultism Section of the State CID Enugu, led to Joshua’s arraignment. Court proceedings are ongoing as authorities continue their search for his accomplices.
