Enugu Police Arrest and Arraign Suspected Streetlight Vandal

On August 8, 2024, at 4:30 a.m., Enugu State Police Command Operatives, serving in the New Haven Division, apprehended one Aliyu Saad “m” following credible information about a criminal act involving the uprooting and theft of a streetlight pole at New Artisan, Enugu. The suspect was arraigned in the Enugu North Magistrate Court on August 13, 2024, and subsequently remanded in the Correctional Custodial Centre Enugu pending further proceedings.

 

This arrest is a direct result of the Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, psc (+), issuing marching orders to police operatives to clamp down on criminal elements, particularly those engaging in vandalizing public infrastructure in Enugu State.

 

The CP urges the public to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and promptly report any criminal activities to the nearest Police Station.
