The Enugu State Waste Management Authority (ESWAMA) has announced the cancellation of the monthly clean-up exercise originally scheduled for Saturday, October 26, 2024.
In an official statement, Andreas Gebauer, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Water and Waste, confirmed that the exercise was postponed in respect of state-wide funeral activities for the late President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, taking place on the same day in Enugu.
ESWAMA urged residents to continue maintaining a clean environment, properly bagging waste for easier disposal. The authority also expressed regret over any inconvenience caused by the cancellation and thanked citizens for their understanding and cooperation.
